Bee-Clean Building Maintenance is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned janitorial company providing service to clients on a national and local level. With over 20 offices across Canada, we have been providing expert building maintenance and complete janitorial services for 50 years to a variety of clients. The Vancouver, British Columbia branch of Bee-Clean is looking for a Manager of Human Resources to join our team. This is a full-time, mid-senior level position covering a 9 month parental leave.
We’re on the lookout for a seasoned HR professional who’s well-versed in the intricacies of human resources management. In this role, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of functions, including employee relations, recruitment, training, and development.
Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience, you possess the foundation we’re seeking. Notably, proficiency in handling unionized environments, interpreting collective agreements, and navigating Canadian employment laws will be pivotal to this role.
Responsibilities
As the Manager of Human Resources BC, you’re destined to lead HR operations for our BC branch. This journey entails the seamless orchestration of daily HR functions, aligned with the labyrinth of legal requisites. Working closely with our leadership, you’ll wield your expertise in employee relations while also playing a pivotal role in shaping strategies for employee development. Your role is a bridge, connecting our organizational aspirations to the nurturing of our invaluable team members. Leverage your exceptional people skills to oversee our personnel and ensure that our human resources programs and initiatives are not only effective and efficient but also in alignment with our overall business objectives.
In your role as the HR Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supervising our existing HR personnel, addressing employee grievances and disputes, collaborating on safety initiatives alongside the HSE department, fostering employee development, amplifying job satisfaction, and crafting onboarding procedures. Your knack for implementing HR strategies that harmonize with our business goals, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, maintaining meticulous employee records, and designing accountability mechanisms will be key elements of your mission. Overall, you’ll be the driving force behind our comprehensive employment needs.
Qualifications
- You bring a wealth of experience – five or more years – in human resources, with a specialized focus on navigating the complexities of unionized environments.
- Your communication and interpersonal skills are exceptional, underpinned by a strong ethical mindset.
- Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution, you are poised to tackle challenges head-on.
- Your educational foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources or a related field.
- Your familiarity with WinTeam software is a distinct advantage, showcasing your adaptability in tech-driven environments.
- While not mandatory, having a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation is a plus, reflecting your commitment to excellence.
- Your solid grasp of provincial laws related to HR demonstrates your commitment to staying informed and compliant.
